Abstract:Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been described as the “4th industrial revolution” which uses computer technology to simulate intelligent behavior, critical thinking, and decision making similar to humans.
Machine learning (ML) algorithms designed for image analysis for radiographic interpretation, decision support systems for treatment planning, and predictive models for patient outcomes are increasingly helping clinicians in making informed decisions and accurate predictions in less time and with less error. This presentation demonstrates the use of different ML models while overviewing the current applications of AI technologies in enhancing various aspects of endodontics. While listing the potential future directions for the use of AI, it will highlight the risks and ethical concerns associated with AI integration in the field of endodontic practice and research.
